The Banking, Finance & Capital Markets (BFCM), Insolvency and International Arbitration Commissions are excited to invite you to the joint seminar on special situations related to banking and finance in Rome from 14 to 16 March 2024.

Financial institutions are being disrupted, facing challenges from consumers, creditors, financial regulators and innovative competitors. Alternative dispute resolutions are coming to the rescue, alternative finance instruments are bridging the gap.

When the ‘problems’ hit the fan, lawyers need to step back, take time to reflect and look at the issues from a global perspective. No better place to do it than the Eternal City!

Together with regulators, practitioners and industry leaders, we will discuss and dive deep into the world of alternative dispute resolutions in the banking sector, bank restructuring, distressed finance, financing of contentious claims and credit funds in restructuring operations. All are guaranteed by the joint forces of BFCM, Insolvency and International Arbitration Commissions.

Alongside the academic programme, our Organising Committee has put together an exciting social programme.

This seminar will be a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow professionals operating in and around banking and finance, insolvency and international arbitration and at the same time to savour the history and charm of the once “capital of the world”.

We look forward to welcoming you to Rome.

Practical Information

Getting around Rome: Efficient travel tips

The hotel is centrally located in Rome, resulting in dense traffic. Therefore, we recommend utilising the train or bus for transportation from the airport to the hotel and the metro for other city journeys.

For a cost-effective option of 7 euros, you can reach the hotel by taking the bus from Rome Fiumicino Airport, disembarking at the Rome Vatican station, and walking a short 700 meters to your accommodation.
Alternatively, you may opt for the train from Fiumicino Aeroporto to Roma Termini. From Termini station, the metro to Lepanto, which is a mere 350 meters from your hotel, is a convenient choice.

Given the proximity of Lepanto metro station to the hotel, we recommend planning your public transport routes based on this station.
Please refer to this link for comprehensive information on train and this link for the bus services.
